Genshin Impact “Chapter 11: Serpent’s Dance” (Part 1 + Part 2) Webtoon Review
Major Spoilers are included in this Webtoon Review. Please read with caution.
On October 27, 2020, I started and finished Genshin Impact Webtoon’s Chapter 11: Serpent’s Dance. Picking up where we left off in the last chapter, Kaeya revealed to have lied to Amber about finding devices to eliminate Collei without interference. While the previous chapters confirmed that Collei was responsible for the Black Fire Incident, there was more confirmation regarding the evil spirit possessing Collei—the true monster responsible for the incident.
The action sequence between Kaeya and Collei was beautifully drawn, with Kaeya’s abilities from the video game being used effectively to take down Collei. The ice was gorgeous. While Kaeya’s intentions were noble, I still didn’t like how he lied to Amber.
Collei’s flashbacks to the good times with Amber—contrasting with the demon tempting Collei to give into the darkness—were getting to me though. The demon is also being developed as a legit character, so I’m hoping Amber finds a way to separate Collei from it to save her.
The Webtoon is doing a fantastic job on developing their friendship—making them the heart of this amazing series. Collei opening herself up to die was heartbreaking to say the least—even Kaeya hesitated when Collei suppressed the demon and stopped fighting back. Luckily, Amber made it back in time and escaped with Collei.
I was so happy to see them escape from Kaeya, and the cliffhanger with someone watching the fight was also ominous. The chapters are getting shorter as the series progressed—compared to the long Prologue—so the pacing seems breakneck with all the wonky plot developments. I am looking forward to seeing what happens in chapter 12 though.
Thanks for reading this Webtoon review, everyone! Let’s keep it reading—and obsessively playing—Genshin Impact!
