Genshin Impact “Chapter 7: Dusty Chest” (Part 1 + Part 2) Webtoon Review

December 05, 2020 by Aaron Ngo

Genshin Impact “Chapter 7: Dusty Chest” (Part 1 + Part 2) Webtoon Review. Written by Aaron Ngo.

On October 21, 2020, I started and finished Genshin Impact Webtoon’s Chapter 7: Dusty Chest Parts 1 and 2. This chapter took the time to cover Diluc’s background, and how it is connected to the current case being investigated. Chapter 7’s Parts 1 and 2 were also short, so this was a fast-paced one that allowed us to understand why Diluc is the brooding bartender he is today.

Genshin Impact “Chapter 6: Wind and Fyre” (Part 1 + Part 2) Webtoon Review

Genshin Impact “Chapter 6: Wind and Fyre” (Part 1 + Part 2) Webtoon Review. Written by Aaron Ngo.

On October 13, 2020, I started and finished Genshin Impact Webtoon’s Chapter 6: Wind and Fyre. The chapter followed up on Jean saving Amber as they face off against a powerful monster after Amber’s artifact. I enjoyed the artwork on their unison attack—the namesake of the chapter—and how they combo attacked to defeat the monster. Amber is easily becoming the main protagonist with how silly she is, which makes Jean act less serious as a result.

Genshin Impact “Chapter 5: Dangerous Grounds” (Part 1 + Part 2) Webtoon Review. Written by Aaron Ngo.

On October 13, 2020, I started and finished Genshin Impact’s Chapter 5: Dangerous Grounds Parts 1 and 2. The story is actually becoming easier to follow along with Amber being established as the main protagonist. This chapter is centered around Amber going after Il Dottore and running into a camp of hilichurls.

Genshin Impact “Chapter 4: Surprise Finding” (Part 1 + Part 2) Webtoon Review

Genshin Impact “Chapter 4: Surprise Finding” (Part 1 + Part 2) Webtoon Review. Written by Aaron Ngo.

On October 13, 2020, I started and finished Genshin Impact Webtoon’s Chapter 4: Surprise Finding Parts 1 and 2. I’m going to assume Amber is the main protagonist for the time being, given she’s been given the most consistent screen time. Picking up where we left off in Chapter 3: Lost and Found, Amber and mysterious young girl—she still has no name—have run into Jean and Lisa, who are also investigating the black flame incident that occurred during chapter 2.

On October 13, 2020, I started and finished Genshin Impact Webtoon’s Chapter 3: Lost and Found” Parts 1 and 2. This chapter—shorter in both parts compared to the previous chapters—focused on Amber helping the mysterious young girl she found at the end of Chapter 2.

Genshin Impact “Chapter 2: Flame Born” (Part 1 + Part 2) Webtoon Review

Genshin Impact “Chapter 2: Flame Born” (Part 1 + Part 2) Webtoon Review. Written by Aaron Ngo.

On October 13, 2020, I started and finished Genshin Impact Webtoon’s Chapter 2: Flame Born Parts 1 and 2. The story kicked off with an exposition dump about Kaeya and Diluc’s brotherhood, which I found annoying as it breaks the “show, don’t tell” rule. The information was placed simply to be there, when it should’ve been shown through their scenes or dialogue.

One Piece “Fish-Man Island Saga Thought Piece” – The Reading Journey So Far (Week #5)

December 05, 2020 by Aaron Ngo

One Piece “Fish-Man Island Saga Thought Piece” – The Reading Journey So Far (Week #5). Written by Aaron Ngo.

I finished Week #5 with Big Daddy One Piece on December 1, 2020. This means I have 30 days left to catch up with the latest chapter—which is Chapter 997 at time of this thought piece’s publication. I have been hearing Chapter 1,000 might be delayed to January 2021, so “failing” the goal of reaching 1,000 chapters is Oda’s fault. That’s why the goal has slightly changed to “latest chapter”.

One Piece “Summit War Saga Thought Piece” – The Reading Journey So Far (Week #4). Written by Aaron Ngo.

Hello everyone,

I survived Week #4 with Big Daddy One Piece. While I wasn’t as fast as Week #2 or Week #3—back on Week #1’s pace due to more than half the arcs dragging out—I believe this was the Saga I needed to take my time on anyway.

Batwoman Season 1 Review

Batwoman Season 1 Review. Written by Aaron Ngo.

Originally, I had been watching this series weekly since its premiere last year—October 2019—but then I took a break from it after the Crisis on Infinite Earths crossover event concluded. Picking it back up on October 22, 2020 and finishing on October 24, 2020, I decided to finish to prepare myself for season two despite Ruby Rose having exited out of the title role.

Digimon Adventure REBOOT Episode 25 “Dive To The Next Ocean” Review

November 28, 2020 by Aaron Ngo

Digimon Adventure REBOOT Episode 25 “Dive To The Next Ocean” Review. Written by Aaron Ngo.

Episode 25—“Dive To The Next Ocean”—marked the beginning of a new arc. While the major issues of what the series has done so far are still in effect, I am going into this next arc somewhat hopeful that the villain will be at least Myotismon. I have set the bar lower for the upcoming arc like, “Please let it be Myotismon! He’s one of the best Digimon villains, we can skip Etemon!”

Digimon Adventure REBOOT Episode 24 “The Final Stage, DoneDevimon” Review

Digimon Adventure REBOOT Episode 24 “The Final Stage, DoneDevimon” Review. Written by Aaron Ngo.

Episode 24—“The Final Stage, DoneDevimon”—brought the “Devimon Arc” to a close. I do want to say that I am disappointed on how Devimon was handled—he barely felt like a character; he seemed more like something the DigiDestined had to beat down. There was no Dialogue exchange, or the usual “let me explain why I’m doing this”.

The Legend of Korra Book 4: Balance Review

November 21, 2020 by Aaron Ngo

The Legend of Korra Book 4: Balance Review. Written by Aaron Ngo.

On October 30, 2020, I started watching The Legend of Korra Book 4: Balance—the final season—and finished on November 1, 2020. I consider this season the “Epilogue” season to resolve Book 3—and not the actual ending to the overall series—where things had to be set right. In this season, we learned what the characters have been up to over the past three years—a time skip—with a new threat rising, and how all that ties into Korra’s healing and return to her Avatar duties.

On August 14, 2020, The Legend of Korra—sequel to Avatar The Last Airbender—dropped on Netflix. Originally created and developed as a mini-series, The Legend of Korra is set 70 years after the original series in Republic City, a place founded by Avatar Aang and Fire Lord Zuko where benders and non-benders can live together in harmony.
