On October 8, 2020, I started watching Tower of God’s first season—13 episodes—and finished on October 27, 2020. Having caught up with all 485 episodes of the Webtoon, I decided to give the anime a try, which covered the Webtoon’s first 78 chapters condensed into 13 twenty-four-minute episodes. While the rush to hit major plot points and story revelations left a bad taste in my mouth, I still had a better time watching this Webtoon anime than The God of High School.

I have concluded my second week with Big Daddy One Piece manga, and somehow doubled my speed—going from reading 100 chapters during week 1 to reading 202 chapters during week 2. In my previous One Piece thought piece—the link is here—I wasn’t sure if I’d continue doing these weekly “The Reading Journey – So Far” nor did I think I’d hit two Sagas in one week. On October 6, 2020, I started and finished Tower of God Volume 3’s thirteenth story arc: “Dowon”. Picking up where the previous arc left off, Dowon had finally awakened from her slumber. Baam, Khun, and Rak also face off against Daleet, proving how much more powerful they are over Daleet. Dowon also revealed how disappointed she was of the current world, and how they hadn’t managed to achieve true peace in her absence.

The arc also centered around Team Baam—the original trio—fighting against Daleet, a commander of the wall guards.

I’m liking the new plot direction and story lore regarding the Dowon—otherwise known as Forget-Me-Not—and her role in the war between Zahard and FUG and The Wall’s origin.

On October 5, 2020, I started and finished Tower of God Volume 3’s tenth story arc: “The Wall of Peaceful Coexistence”. This arc resolved plot threads regarding Deng Deng, Louie, and Baam while setting everything else in place for the war happening at The Wall of Peaceful Coexistence, where Baylord Yama was transported to by Khel Hellam. I was having a great time with this arc and the characters—especially Baylord Yama.

On October 2, 2020, I started and finished Tower of God Volume 3’s sixth story arc: “Stealing the Fang 2”. I think I mentioned this in a previous Webtoon review, but I’ve been enjoying the shortened arcs. This arc centered around Karaka and Baam wanting to make a deal with Baylord Doom—seeing it as the best way to stop him from taking over and preserving the canine people since Doom’s life is tethered to that whole race.
