Tower of God Season 1 Anime Review

November 21, 2020 by Aaron Ngo

Tower of God Season 1 Anime Review. Written by Aaron Ngo.

On October 8, 2020, I started watching Tower of God’s first season—13 episodes—and finished on October 27, 2020. Having caught up with all 485 episodes of the Webtoon, I decided to give the anime a try, which covered the Webtoon’s first 78 chapters condensed into 13 twenty-four-minute episodes. While the rush to hit major plot points and story revelations left a bad taste in my mouth, I still had a better time watching this Webtoon anime than The God of High School.

One Piece “Water 7 Saga + Thriller Bark Saga Thought Piece” The Reading Journey So Far (Week #3). Written by Aaron Ngo.

Hello everyone,

I have finished my third week with Big Daddy One Piece. I didn’t double my speed like I did during Week #2—only being able to read 187 chapters—but I am progressing faster than Week #1. At this point, I have decided to do these “The Reading Journey – So Far Thought Pieces” once a week until I reach the latest chapter.

One Piece “Alabasta Saga + Sky Island Saga Thought Piece” – The Reading Journey So Far (Week #2). Written by Aaron Ngo.

Hello everyone,

I have concluded my second week with Big Daddy One Piece manga, and somehow doubled my speed—going from reading 100 chapters during week 1 to reading 202 chapters during week 2. In my previous One Piece thought piece—the link is here—I wasn’t sure if I’d continue doing these weekly “The Reading Journey – So Far” nor did I think I’d hit two Sagas in one week. So, here I am writing to y’all again about my general thoughts—non-spoiler to the best of my ability—on the Alabasta and Sky Island Sagas.

This Is Us Season 5 Episode 3 “Changes” Review

November 15, 2020 by Aaron Ngo

This Is Us Season 5 Episode 3 “Changes” Review. Written by Aaron Ngo.

This Is Us returned with a whole new episode on November 10—a week after the 2020 Presidential Election—about the Big Three’s present-day struggles connecting back to their time in the eighth grade. While this flashback story about the Big Three going through puberty might seem minor on the surface, in true This Is Us fashion, we’re shown the origin story of the Big Three’s present-day struggles.

On October 7, 2020, I started and finished Tower of God Volume 3’s seventeenth—and latest completed—story arc: “VS Kallavan”. I have officially caught up with this massive Webtoon. What a great “warm-up” for my eventual read of Big Daddy One Piece manga.

Tower of God Volume 3: “A Rough War” (Episodes 56 through 59) Webtoon Review. Written by Aaron Ngo.

On October 7, 2020, I started and finished Tower of God Volume 3’s sixteenth story arc: “A Rough War”. The war has indeed been rough on both sides. Team Baam is trying to break through the Second Defensive Wall to save Ha Jinsung, but Baam had a run-in with Kallavan sooner than expected.

Tower of God Volume 3: “The Intrusion” (Episodes 53 through 55) Webtoon Review. Written by Aaron Ngo.

On October 6, 2020, I started and finished Tower of God Volume 3’s fifteenth story arc: “The Intrusion”. The bonus chapter at the end of this arc—advertising the anime that came out on April 1, 2020—made me realize I still had Tower of God material to consume after this reading binge was over.

On October 6, 2020, I started and finished Tower of God Volume 3’s fourteenth story arc: “The Nest”. I’m starting to hit the story arcs that came out during 2020—so the more recent Tower of God Webtoon episodes. I have 16 more episodes to read until I reach the Webtoon’s highest point—episode 68.

Tower of God Volume 3: “Dowon” (Episodes 45 through 48) Webtoon Review. Written by Aaron Ngo.

On October 6, 2020, I started and finished Tower of God Volume 3’s thirteenth story arc: “Dowon”. Picking up where the previous arc left off, Dowon had finally awakened from her slumber. Baam, Khun, and Rak also face off against Daleet, proving how much more powerful they are over Daleet. Dowon also revealed how disappointed she was of the current world, and how they hadn’t managed to achieve true peace in her absence.

On October 6, 2020, I started and finished Tower of God Volume 3’s twelfth story arc: “Kallavan vs White”. This short arc centered around White fighting against Kallavan while Khane went to wake her sister up from her imprisonment. The arc also centered around Team Baam—the original trio—fighting against Daleet, a commander of the wall guards.

Tower of God Volume 3: “The Wall with a Sleeping Forget-Me-Not” (Episodes 38 through 42) Webtoon Review. Written by Aaron Ngo.

On October 5, 2020, I started reading Tower of God Volume 3’s eleventh story arc: “The Wall with a Sleeping Forget-Me-Not” and finished on October 6, 2020. I’m liking the new plot direction and story lore regarding the Dowon—otherwise known as Forget-Me-Not—and her role in the war between Zahard and FUG and The Wall’s origin.

Tower of God Volume 3: “The Wall of Peaceful Coexistence” (Episodes 33 through 37) Webtoon Review. Written by Aaron Ngo.

On October 5, 2020, I started and finished Tower of God Volume 3’s tenth story arc: “The Wall of Peaceful Coexistence”. This arc resolved plot threads regarding Deng Deng, Louie, and Baam while setting everything else in place for the war happening at The Wall of Peaceful Coexistence, where Baylord Yama was transported to by Khel Hellam. I was having a great time with this arc and the characters—especially Baylord Yama.

On October 4, 2020, I started and finished Tower of God Volume 3’s ninth story arc: “Transformation”. The chaos and action sequences in this arc went nicely with each other, but the story was beginning to show more obvious convolutedness.

Tower of God Volume 3: “Khel Hellam” (Episodes 27 through 29) Webtoon Review. Written by Aaron Ngo.

On October 3, 2020, I started and finished Tower of God Volume 3’s eighth story arc: “Khel Hellam”. I guess I have to stop calling Khel Hellam “Elder FUG” now that his name is an arc. I’ve been calling him “Elder FUG” or “FUG Elder” interchangeably in the previous Webtoon reviews because I had a hard time remembering his name and didn’t want to look it up.

November 15, 2020 by Aaron Ngo

Tower of God Volume 3: “Stealing the Fang 2” (Episodes 22 and 23) Webtoon Review. Written by Aaron Ngo.

On October 2, 2020, I started and finished Tower of God Volume 3’s sixth story arc: “Stealing the Fang 2”. I think I mentioned this in a previous Webtoon review, but I’ve been enjoying the shortened arcs. This arc centered around Karaka and Baam wanting to make a deal with Baylord Doom—seeing it as the best way to stop him from taking over and preserving the canine people since Doom’s life is tethered to that whole race.

On October 1, 2020, I started and finished Tower of God Volume 3’s fifth story arc: “Baylord Doom”. I have got to say, I’m loving the consistent short arcs. It reminds me of when I read Tower of God’s Volume 1 during the first week of September 2020. I’ve come a long way since then—climbing the Tower.
