Major Spoilers are included in this episode review. Please read with caution.

Elseworlds, Part 1 Review is here.

Elseworlds, Part 2 Review is here.

The third and last part of the crossover had a lot of work to do: show off this new Elseworlds reality with Oliver and Barry as the Trigger Twins, use the main cast of Supergirl on Earth-1, explain/conclude John Deegan’s arc as Black Suit Superman, and figure out what The Monitor is up to all in this one episode. Oh yeah, Kara is trapped in the pipeline at STAR Labs. We have to rescue her—but remember to have fun doing all of the above!

I missed the body-swapping plot element of Oliver and Barry, but this situation works too. It’s the same as the first two parts, but now Earth-1 has mostly changed. Deegan, inspired by the superheroes of Earth-38, decides to rewrite his own destiny and become his own twisted idea of Black Suit Superman.

Deegan has come off as a one-dimensional character in all three parts. There hasn’t been much room to develop him as the villain of the crossover, but I think that’s okay. The whole point of this team-up was to see our heroes have fun and kick ass. Still, it would’ve been nice if Deegan got more screentime as himself and not as Superman.

Honestly, Supergirl is stronger than Superman, but he was too afraid to copy her gender. Wow, a smart villain would’ve taken the gender swap. Did you see Supergirl beat up Superman in her season two finale? Yeah, didn’t think so.

Alternate Killer Frost and E-1 Alex Danvers’ conversation… we needed more time with those two. The chemistry between them was… chilling… pun totally intended. I think it was Killer Frost doing most of the flirting, but damn I could feel the tension. The one scene was not nearly enough for me or anyone watching.

I’m really impressed with Danielle Panabaker’s performance in all three parts of the Elseworlds crossover. I keep finding myself dedicating parts of my reviews to her. Killer Frost and Caitlin Snow deserve so much better than that half-assed origin story with her father. I’m starting to get off topic here…

Lois Lane returned for the final part alongside Brainy and Martian Manhunter. We missed you in part 2, but I guess you were busy having dinner at the Fortress of Solitude. The hammer move she did was so random, but you know what? I don’t care. She got to hit Fake Superman hard with it. The twist with her being pregnant threw me off… Live-action rarely explores this route, and the proposal ring was the same move Smallville Clark did in their 100th episode. It was a beautiful move and an effective way to remove Superman from the rest of season four.

We were promised a Legends cameo… and got Gary! It worked so perfectly. Thank you for giving the boys a chance to meet this lovable misfit.

Oliver made a deal with The Monitor and saved Supergirl and The Flash from their fates. What was the price? I’m getting serious Smallville vibes like when Clark had to save Lana Lang in the 100th episode and ended up sacrificing his dad… Why do I keep mentioning Smallville’s 100th episode? WHAT WAS THE DEAL, OLIVER QUEEN?

Felicity is going to pull the whole “why didn’t you talk to me first” argument on Oliver like she has every other time he’s done this! Well, I’m paying attention to those flash forwards. If Oliver never appears in them, he’s dead.

Batwoman made a brief appearance at the end. She called Oliver Queen. I wonder if he knows she’s Kate Kane. She didn’t use a voice modifier. Secret identities are like not even a thing at this point. We should’ve talked more about Kara’s struggles involving her double life. I think she should tell her Earth, but that’s just me.

CRISIS ON INFINITE EARTHS is our next big crossover! OMG FALL 2019 has to hurry up! The Arrowverse’s Infinity War is coming next year to a television near you! Arrow, Supergirl, The Flash, Legends, Batwoman, and Black Lightning have to join forces at that point! Please let Black Lightning become a part of the universe. We have to make this the biggest 5(maybe 6) night crossover!

See you all in January. That’s right. We got the second half of these seasons coming. I’ll be investing in Black Lightning too. Keep a look out for those reviews coming as well. Thanks!
